Vitamins and minerals are crucial for the proper functioning of our body. That is why we often reach out to supplements to complement our diet. It sounds quick and easy to get a few pills with the peace of mind that you have taken care of your nutritional needs. In reality, however, things do not work that straight forward:
With all the bad publicity about sugar, is it really that horrible at the end?
Scare tactics should never be used as motivational tool. We much rather believe in the power of knowledge and think that if people are better informed, they would always make the right decision. That is why, we will not get into all the statistics that reveal the relationship between sugar and a series of the most severe diseases, but will rather give you a few simple facts about sugar:
- Brings 0 nutrients, hence it is not needed in our diet.
- Interferes with the hormones that regulate hunger and satiety.
- Harms metabolism, leading to increase in insulin and fat storage.
- It is addictive (by the release of dopamine when we consume it).
We find that one of the nicest things about winter and Christmas is the time you spent at home: with a good book, a movie, or your loved one, reflecting back on the year behind and enjoying some sweet treat. Our believe at Coppa della Maga is that indulgence can and should be healthy, as well. Following that philosophy, we strongly suggest trying the following quick, delicious and intriguing recipe. It will only take a moment to prepare and guarantees a blissful time:
Ingredients (serves 1):
3 scoops of Coppa della Maga Chocolate or the Vegan Chocolate and Goji Berries
200 ml of milk (dairy, almond or another vegan variety)
1/3 spoon of each: cinnamon, cloves and turmeric
One crushed biscuit (gluten free)
Autumn has come indeed and instead of whining for the summer past, it would be much better to rediscover some joys of the cosy atmosphere the season brings. And since a lot of these little pleasures in the coming months will be food related, better make sure they would be also healthy!
As you know, our ice cream is not too sweet, which makes it the perfect accompaniment to many dishes, besides the obvious pairing with desserts. We have shared with you already one of our favourite recipes for a squash soup that becomes a heavenly dish with a scoop of Coppa della Maga Sesame & Honey on top. Now, we would like to present to you our suggestion for a dessert that could be enjoyed also as a healthy start of the day:
Many of us do not need much convincing to go on vacation. For others, however, being away from work can seem impossible. Endless reasons why our absence will be detrimental to the success of our current tasks, can deprive us from any rest for years in a row, which often leads to the so-called burnout syndrome.
The symptoms of burnout can often remain unnoticed for a prolonged period of time. ‘Just’ being tired may actually be an alarming signal, that is not so innocent. Without noticing, that feeling might gradually transform into an extended period of exhaustion, which then leads to irritation, lack of motivation and interest in life, as well as cognitive problems. Needless to say, all that deteriorates the quality of your work and overall performance, which makes you feel even more stressed, trying to push yourself harder and further to the brink of exhaustion. The good news is, however, that there is a way to break that vicious cycle:
Having a small dessert at the end of the meal is not just a matter of soothing your sweet tooth. If you leave some space for it, you would actually avoid overeating and will end the meal with greater satisfaction. To keep the healthy balance, however, it is crucial to have a healthy dessert, without any sugar. Try this one – so quick and easy to prepare and amazingly refreshing for the summer:
Food should be selected and consumed to nourish our body and satisfy our senses. We all have preferences and without much education, we know what we love or dislike to eat. By the way, the higher levels of experienced pleasure аrе also related to a reported faster satiety, which is one more reason to consider satisfying thoroughly your senses.
