Surely you’re all familiar with the sayings ‘Listen to your gut’, ‘follow your gut instinct ‘and ‘I’ve got a gut wrenching feeling about this’ but have you ever questioned their significance? You may be surprised to know that these mind – gut connected phrases have not simply been strung together for metaphorical effect but are actually rather meaningful. Interestingly, the state of our gut does not only affect our physical health but can also impact our mental health too. Let’s explore these factors a little further before looking into some simple steps we can take to keep our gut healthy.

Up to two thirds of the human body is comprised of water – it’s in our cells, the spaces in between and in our blood. Each and every single part of our anatomy is dependent on water in order to function.
Surely you’ve all been advised at some point in time to drink at least 2 litres of water per day – an amount even the most dedicated of water – drinkers may sometimes view as a bit of a challenge. Despite there being very little scientific evidence to back this claim we all know that water consumption is extremely important and vital for our bodies to operate. However, when it comes down to how much we should drink keep in mind that water requirements can vary from person to person depending on lifestyle, health factors, diet and climate. For example, someone who exercises often is going to need a higher quantity to help rehydrate their system after heavy perspiration. Additionally a person who has a diet high in salt will need more water to maintain a normal salt concentration in the blood.
Whilst it’s crucial we get enough liquids in our body we must be careful not to overdo it or drink large volumes too quickly.
Berry fans, this one’s for you! An indulgent summer inspired smoothie made using fresh, sweet berries and velvety smooth Coppa della Maga ice cream.

There are over 1500 varieties of green tea, each one with its very own special properties and unique flavour profile – much like wine.
Green tea is judged on its various aromas, texture and by how long the flavour remains in the mouth once consumed. The more expensive varieties have a strong, slightly sweet note which lingers on the palate. One of the most treasured green teas is the Jasmine pearl. It can often go up to £500 per kg, as each leaf has been scented with jasmine blossoms and hand rolled into small “pearls” to capture the floral aromatic oils. Another favourite, praised for its delicate balance of sweet and savoury is the Sencha.
Fans of Coppa della Maga know that it’s much more than just a healthy ice cream, but also a lifestyle brand promoting indulgence in all aspects of life. This is exactly why we love to entertain, socialise and bring people together for a good time.
Our last big event was certainly no exception! We joined forces with the fabulous creatives behind Secret Brunch to immerse our guests in a historical world of fantasy and glamour.
Secret Brunch hosts exclusive, members-only parties in London, Paris and Milan, each with their very own theme, dress code and secret location (disclosed just hours prior to the event).

As the weather warms and the days get brighter our minds (and taste buds) wander to the delicious, sweet strawberry, synonymous with British summer. Perfect with a glass of prosecco, dipped into chocolate or added to a light and vibrant salad, the strawberry is a truly versatile summer staple. Plus, there’s a whole lot more to strawberries than meets the eye:
For most of us good healthcare means getting in our five a day, regular exercise and a sufficient vitamin intake. However, we often forget the importance of minerals and how vital they are in sustaining a functioning body. Minerals are natural and inorganic chemical elements found in soils and rocks. They compose about 4% of the human body and are obtained from external sources (e.g food). Essentially, minerals are the catalysts that keep our bodies going – needed for strong bones, teeth and muscles, maintaining PH balance, nerve conduction and metabolic processes. So we think it’s fair to say that minerals are pretty fantastic.
